Jonesborough Locally Grown
is a community non-profit organization dedicated to supporting our local farmers, building our community, and increasing access to and educating about fresh, healthy, locally grown food. We operate producer-only markets—where growers sell directly to consumers; no resale is allowed. We offer you two ways to experience the freshest local produce and food through our Saturday market and our newly-opened Boone Street Market local food store! We also host monthly 100 mile dinners, classes in our Boone Street Market kitchen, and The Field School for new farmers!

Invitation to Volunteer
Volunteer support is critical to the operation of Jonesborough Locally Grown! We rely on volunteers to infuse the market and store with a spirit of community and maintain the many programs that make our market special and welcoming, both to customers and vendors. Community and vendor volunteers serve on the board, help with set-up and take down, staff the market information booth, help in the store kitchen and as cashiers and delivery drivers, coordinate our Farm to Table dinner fundraiser, and more! It’s fun, the tasks are manageable and we provide training. You will meet some people you will be glad to know, and munch on a lot of good fresh food.

If you would like to fill out an application form to be a volunteer, go to MARKET VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM. One of the market managers will contact you to welcome you to the market team. You may also just come on down to the Saturday Market and talk to us about volunteering. Everything can be taken care of right there, and you can easily observe the operation of the market and meet the folks you would be working with if you decide to volunteer.

The Farm to Table Dinner
Chef Alex Bomba and Main Street Cafe and Catering created and hosted our first Farm to Table fundraiser on a beautiful August evening in 2011. At each Farm to Table Dinner, Chef Bomba creates an elegant 5-course meal sourced from market ingredients.
